Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia

CAPABLE Program Lunch and Learn

Wednesday, January 13 12:00 PM

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia invites you to join us each month as we take a deeper dive into some lesser-known parts of our work.

Each month, volunteers and other guests will have the opportunity for a behind the scenes look into the varied ways Habitat for Humanity is working to address the need for affordable housing in Philadelphia. You will have the opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about volunteering with Habitat Philadelphia while learning more about the work we do! You can ask questions and even have discussion with our local Habitat experts.

For the month of January, we will be learning from our Aging in Place Construction Coordinator, Thad Lutz, with an extra special guest appearance from Occupational Therapist, Monique Chabot. Thad leads our CAPABLE program, which provides aging-in-place repairs for elderly homeowners so they can remain safe and healthy in their homes for as long as possible. Combining the efforts of occupational therapists, nurses, and construction experts, CAPABLE “prescribes” changes to the built environment that patients inhabit, demonstrating Habitat Philadelphia’s focus on the connection between health and housing.

Please RSVP below to join us for this rare and unique opportunity to hear from not one, but TWO of our thoughtful CAPABLE experts!

Please note that Lunch and Learns may not be used in place of a Volunteer Orientation.
