Census Ballot Box Prep with Global Citizen

Building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is excited to partner with the Habitat Philadelphia Young Professionals and local civic groups on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to prepare for the upcoming 2020 Census. The day of service will take place at Girard College, 2101 S College Ave. The project will be to build ballot boxes, and the work scope will include moving lumber, using chop saws, and pre-drilling holes so that volunteers can easily put together the boxes.

The workday is from 9am – 2pm. Volunteers will be responsible for their own lunch arrangements. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, and dress in layers that you don’t mind getting dirty. We suggest you wear work boots, but sneakers work fine as well. We will provide all the tools and safety equipment you will need.

If you have any other questions about the day, please contact Habitat Philadelphia’s Relationship Manager, Greg Bradley. Thank you in advance for your service with Habitat Philadelphia! We look forward to working with you!
