Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia

Acquisition, Design, and Project Predevelopment Lunch and Learn

Wednesday, April 14, 12:00 PM

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia invites you to join us each month as we take a deeper dive into some lesser-known parts of our work.

Each month, volunteers and other guests will have the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes look into the varied ways Habitat for Humanity is working to address the need for affordable housing in Philadelphia. You will have the opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about volunteering with Habitat Philadelphia while learning more about the work we do! You can ask questions and even have discussions with our local Habitat experts.

Have you ever wondered what happens at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia before the shovel hits the dirt? In April, we will be learning about this vital step in the homebuilding process from Habitat’s very own Director of Project Planning, Ed McColly. We will dive more deeply into what predevelopment looks like for a typical project, from acquiring land to leveraging funds to project design and finally to construction. While every development is unique and offers its own challenges, Ed will discuss some of the different considerations that typically play a part in determining the viability of a project.

Please RSVP below to join us for this rare and unique opportunity to hear from one of our long-term volunteers!

Please note that Lunch and Learns may not be used in place of a Volunteer Orientation.`
