Supporting Philadelphia's H.O.M.E. Initiative

Intentional partnership and collaboration is the key to addressing Philadelphia’s housing crisis.

On February 19, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker signed an executive order establishing the H.O.M.E. Initiative, designed to spur collaboration amongst public, private and nonprofit entities to achieve the Mayor’s vision of building and preserving 30,000 housing units over the next three years.

Nonprofit leader Angela D. Brooks has been tapped to lead the initiative – Housing Opportunities Made Easy – in a newly created position, Chief Housing and Urban Development Officer.

Habitat Philadelphia CEO, Corinne O’Connell, offered words of support for the Mayor’s plan, and reminded those gathered of the human impact that will center the work ahead.
