Morgan Properties, a national real estate investment and management company headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, partnered with Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia as a Signature Sponsor of the Building Hope Virtual Lunch-In for a second consecutive year. Morgan Properties and its affiliates currently own and manage a multifamily portfolio comprised of 340 apartment communities and over 90,000 units located in 20 states, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast Region. The Company is the nation’s largest private multifamily owner, the second largest apartment owner in the country, and the largest multifamily owner in Pennsylvania.
As a family business, Morgan Properties focuses on providing exceptional experiences for its residents by fostering a space that’s more than just a place to live. When looking for sponsorship opportunities, it was important to find a Philadelphia partner that would align with Morgan Properties’ corporate Caring, Sharing, Giving charitable initiative — which aims to increase awareness and support for exemplary organizations and causes — as a way to give back to the members of its communities by providing support through partnerships. Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia’s passion for building community and providing secure homes to Philadelphians was a perfect fit.
With both organizations having a strong presence in the Philadelphia-area and nationally, this ideal partnership provides opportunities for Morgan Properties and Habitat Philadelphia to collaborate in various markets to reach their ultimate goal — accessible, safe housing.
“Giving back is a trait that is deeply rooted within our company culture,” said Jason Morgan, Principal at Morgan Properties. “Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia mirrors this value by empowering individuals in the Philadelphia community and providing families with the support and resources they need to flourish. Morgan Properties is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia for a second year in a row to create lasting change for families throughout the city.”
This partnership was especially significant given the devastating effects of COVID-19 on housing security. Even though the world largely came to a halt, the need for stable housing only grew. Morgan Properties employees participated in various events to support the efforts of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia throughout this trying time. From donating $25,000 to kick off the organization’s record-breaking Building Hope Virtual Lunch-in which raised over $502,000 to welcoming home Habitat homeowner #225, the Morgan Properties team was enthusiastic to assist the organization in helping those in need.
“We have built or repaired nearly 900 homes in Philadelphia, but we cannot do it alone,” said Kathryn Fernandez, Senior Director of Institutional Advancement. “Morgan Properties stepped up for a second consecutive year to help ensure that families in our city have a safe, warm, and dry place to live at a time when a strong and stable home makes all the difference in the world.”
As Morgan Properties begins its second year as a Signature Sponsor, the company looks forward to many more in-person events, collaboration, and successfully providing housing options to those throughout the Philadelphia region.
