2018 Impact Report

Our Vision

Since 1985, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia has built and sold 216 homes to first-time homebuyers, and strategically partnered with more than 500 families to tackle critical home repair projects. While the impact on families served is meaningful, the need for decent, affordable housing in Philadelphia is still staggering. Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia receives 800 phone calls a month from families and individuals in need of a decent place to live.

To address the extraordinary need for affordable housing, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia developed an ambitious three-year plan to effectively double the number of people served annually.

In three years, Habitat will:

  • Build 20 homes annually (currently average 10 homes per year)
  • Complete 200 home repairs annually (currently average 100 repairs per year)
  • Develop 3 new housing products (currently build single family homes)
  • Identify 1 new community for neighborhood revitalization work (currently pilot this work in Sharswood)
  • Engage volunteers for 10,000+ hours (currently engage 6,000+ volunteer hours)
