Volunteer at Habitat Headquarters

Habitat Philadelphia utilizes consistent office/administrative volunteers to assist with the day-to-day operations of our organization.  The hours are flexible, but we ask that office volunteers be consistent because we're counting on you.  Responsibilities could include:  adminstrative support, responding to interested callers, helping with special events, filing, cataloguing old photos…not to worry, we'll put you to work.

Volunteer on our Construction Sites

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia invites volunteers of all skill levels to join us as we transform lives and our City by building quality homes in partnership with families in need.  Over the course of the year, Habitat Philadelphia will utilize over 1500 volunteers on our construction sites.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of phases of construction: framing walls, installing insulation, hanging drywall, laying down hardwood floor and tiling, painting the interiors, putting up trim and doing finish work. We are looking for individuals with or without construction skills; however, all volunteers must be 16 or older.  Our Site Supervisors will provide training, guidance and direction to ensure that it is a mutually beneficial experience.

We build in neighborhoods in Germantown, North, South and West Philadelphia.  Volunteers with on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.  We put in full days from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Weekday volunteers are certainly encouraged to sign-up!  Have more questions? Read more.  

 To Get Started as an Individual Volunteer:

• Create a username/password on Volunteer UP(green button below).
• Once logged in, sign up for the next available orientation.
  • All new volunteers MUST attend an orientation before volunteering. You can sign up for orientations from the main calendar page. Orientations are listed on the far right of the screen.
• After you have attended an orientation you may review the schedule and select the day(s) you would like to volunteer.
• For Group Volunteers, please read further about our Team Build Day registration process (do not register through Volunteer UP).
• Please note, Volunteer UPwill generate reminder emails and day-of instructions.
