Executive Director
Position located at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia
Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build and rehabilitate houses and neighborhoods by providing simple, decent, affordable homes for families in need. Reaching out from Christian roots across denominational, faith, economic and racial lines, HFHP works in partnership with prospective and existing homeowners, volunteers, donors, community organizations and all others who can help to reach these goals.
As the Executive Director, you will provide leadership and vision to HFHP, increasing our housing production. You will be the chief executive officer, working in conjunction with the Board of Directors, the staff and the volunteers. You will be the public face of HFHP, bringing our vision and mission to numerous constituencies.
The Essential Responsibilities of the Executive Director are:
- Lead and manage the staff, including the volunteers;
- Develop a plan to achieve production goals and oversee property acquisition and construction;
- Actively participate in development and fundraising;
- Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and manage the day-to-day financial operations;
- Positively represent the organization to the public.
Essential Requirements
- Outstanding leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree desirable, but not required.
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience, including five at a leadership level.
- Vision-driven, with organizational strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff and supporters.
- Knowledge of housing and community development issues, particularly in an urban setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in fundraising.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in managing a large and diverse team of staff and volunteers.
- Ability to interact and communicate with broad and diverse constituencies.
- Familiarity with and commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
- Active involvement in the community.
- Close connections with Philadelphia political and business community desirable.

Director of Construction
Position located at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia
Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is looking for a full-time Director of Construction (Tuesday through Saturday work week, with occasional evening meetings). Candidate will be responsible for managing all processes and personnel of Habitat’s Construction Department including planning long-term and day-to-day build schedules; estimating and creating project budgets; working within budget and design criteria; ordering materials; working with construction staff to ensure quality work is carried out on schedule; coordinating inspections; coordinating subs; communicating any adjustments to plans to Construction Committee and Executive Director. The Director of Construction will have some hands-on duties as needed. Salary is $50,000+ depending on experience.
Qualifications: A commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity; 10 years experience in construction/construction management; the ability to lead, excite, motivate and train volunteers and staff in construction; the ability to organize, develop and manage an overall construction budget and schedule with major milestones for each home; must be knowledgeable about both rehab and new construction; ability to work with people of different races, gender, faiths and incomes; valid driver’s license; understanding of urban housing issues; patience, creative problem solving and a sense of humor are appreciated.

Construction Site Supervisor
Position located at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia
Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is seeking a full-time Construction Site Supervisor experienced in both new and rehab housing construction. Responsible for supervision and training of construction staff, AmeriCorps and volunteers. Must be able to supervise all aspects of the building process, from foundation to finish. Hands on position with very little administrative work. Additional duties include quality control, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and building codes, and maintaining safe building conditions. Requires a thorough knowledge of all facets of construction,ability to read plans and complete material take offs, excellent verbal communication and an ability to work independently as well as with volunteers. This position’s work week is Tuesday through Saturday with occasional evening meetings.
Prefer at least five years full-time construction experience in residential homebuilding and related supervision. Salary range varies, depending on experience.
