Scheduling Your Donation

Call us about your donation at 215.739.9300 or complete the online donation form.  Please email photos of all items if possible!  Please note: Our donation pickup schedule may book up approximately two weeks in advance. Our driver always has the final right of refusal for any donated items, and can decline to accept an item at the pickup location.  All donated items must be in good condition, with no repairs needed.  If you're scheduling a pick-up, we ask that you please clean and uninstall all donations before we arrive. Thank you!

Want to drop off your donation?  We gladly accept drop-offs at our ReStore (2318 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, 19146).  Please call us at 215.739.9300 to schedule a time to drop off your donations.  We will be glad to provide a receipt for tax deduction purposes.

Tax-Deduction Information

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is a 501c3 organization.  Donating goods to the ReStore will usually qualify you for a tax deduction on your taxes. Habitat Philadelphia will provide you with a receipt at the time of your donation to be used for your tax purposes, as well as an acknowledgement letter with our tax exempt status and tax ID #42-1580163.

The Donor is advised that if a tax deduction on a gift is to be taken, the Internal Revenue Service has regulations for filing tax-deductible contributions valued at $250 or more. If the value of the donation is greater than $500.00, Habitat staff is required to sign the IRS Form 8283 acknowledging receipt of the gift. To be acceptable to the IRS, the appraisal must be made no more than 60 days before the date of the contribution and before the due date of the tax return.

The Donor is asked to present the appraisal and completed IRS Form 8283 to Habitat at the time of the gift. The Form will be returned to the Donor with proper signature. For additional information see Determining the Value of Donated Property, Charitable Contributions, and a Listing of Appraisers.

The official registration and financial information of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling toll free, within Pennsylvania, 1 (800) 732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.
