1. What is a Habitat for Humanity ReStore?

A Habitat ReStore is a retail outlet that sells quality used home improvement goods like furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances at a fraction of the normal price. The proceeds are used to help fund the construction of Habitat homes within Philadelphia.

  

2. Do all Habitat for Humanity affiliates have ReStores?

No, but there are other local Habitat affiliates outside Philadelphia that also have ReStores. Find a Habitat ReStore near you.

  

3. Where is Habitat Philadelphia's ReStore located, and what are the hours?

We just opened our ReStore at it's brand new location in Kensington this Summer:

As we continue to get the store ready for full-time open operating hours, we are currently open just three days a week:

Thursdays & Fridays from 9:00am - 5:00pm

Saturdays, 9:00am - 4:00pm

  

4. How do I donate my items to the ReStore? Which donated items are accpeted?

Contact Mark Tebben at 215-739-9300 or markt@habitatphiladelphia.org to donate at item to our ReStore. Before calling, please see our Donate to the ReStore page for information on items we accept, tax information, and scheduling a pick-up.

  

5. Will I get a tax deduction for my donation to the ReStore?

Yes. We always provide a donation reciept for  your tax purposes at the time of the donation, as well as mail you a gift awknowledgement letter that includes your In-kind gift and our tax ID information. See our Donate to the ReStore page for more tax information.

  

6. What can I buy at the ReStore?

We have a wide variety of home furnishing items at the ReStore, and our inventory is always changing. If you have a specific question about our inventory, contact the ReStore office at 215-739-9300.

  

7. Are the items donated to the ReStore used in the Habitat houses you build?

Sometimes. Often, the donated building materials and furniture will be sold in the ReStore, and the revenue generated will be used directly towards building more homes. Either way, your donation will make a huge difference in the lives of local families in need of affordable housing.

  

8. Are there any job/volunteer opportunities with the ReStore?

We are ALWAYS in need of volunteers to help with our ReStore. We are not currently hiring, but will list positions with the ReStore as they become available.
