Schedule Your Free Donation Pick-up Now

Donating to the ReStore is a great way to support Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia!  Check our list of Accepted Items.

Do you have furniture or home goods that you no longer need?  Left-over building materials from your home improvement project?  A storage space or warehouse full of overstocked, surplus, returned or discontinued items? Consider donating to the ReStore!  You enjoy a tax deduction and save reusable materials from going into landfills (since 2012 our ReStore has diverted over 1400 TONS of material from being thrown away!). Donated items are resold to the public, and we use all profits to continue building and repairing affordable housing in Philadelphia.

Schedule a Pick-Up Now!

Call us about your donation at (215) 739-9300 or click the button below.  Please email photos of all items if possible!  Please note: Our donation pickup schedule may book up approximately two weeks in advance. Our driver always has the final right of refusal for any donated items, and can decline to accept an item at the pickup location.  All donated items must be in good condition, with no repairs needed.  If you're scheduling a pick-up, we ask that you please clean and uninstall all donations before we arrive. Thank you!

Tax-Deduction Information

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is a 501c3 organization.  Donating goods to the ReStore will usually qualify you for a tax deduction on your taxes. Habitat Philadelphia will provide you with a receipt at the time of your donation to be used for your tax purposes, as well as an acknowledgement letter with our tax exempt status and tax ID #42-1580163.

The Donor is advised that if a tax deduction on a gift is to be taken, the Internal Revenue Service has regulations for filing tax-deductible contributions valued at $250 or more. If the value of the donation is greater than $500.00, Habitat staff is required to sign the IRS Form 8283 acknowledging receipt of the gift. To be acceptable to the IRS, the appraisal must be made no more than 60 days before the date of the contribution and before the due date of the tax return.

The Donor is asked to present the appraisal and completed IRS Form 8283 to Habitat at the time of the gift. The Form will be returned to the Donor with proper signature. For additional information see Determining the Value of Donated Property, Charitable Contributions, and a Listing of Appraisers.
