We welcome volunteers of all skill levels to join us as we transform lives and our city by building quality homes in partnership with families in need.

As a construction volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of phases of home construction—from framing walls to landscaping, every job is integral to our mission.

Volunteers work with our skilled construction staff Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. We provide all training, tools and oversight to ensure that volunteers are successful and safe.

All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. WHRP volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian complete and submit our Youth Release form (located on VolunteerUP).

To Get Started as a Construction Volunteer:

Click the “Sign Up Now!” button below to create your profile on Volunteer Up (our online scheduling website). Bookmark the calendar page and write down your username and password. 

All new volunteers MUST attend a one-hour volunteer orientation before coming to our construction sites.* Once you’ve created a profile you can look for the next available orientation. If you don’t see one listed or the soonest one is full, please check back on the last day of the month for the date of the next orientation. You can sign up as soon as it’s posted.

We add openings to the calendar regularly. To stay updated on current availability, you can choose (when you register) to receive our Bi-Weekly Volunteer Update email. Even better, "like" us on Facebook and join our Linked In Group find out instantly when we've posted new dates!

After you have attended an orientation you can sign up for construction days you see listed on our schedule. (It's your responsibility to sign yourself up for days that you're interested in working.)

You can choose to complete Habitat's online safety training course before beginning work on our sites. It's located here. This is optional, but certainly encouraged!
