Brett Altman
Brett Altman serves as Chief Executive Officer of Allied Construction Services II, Inc. Since 1977, Brett has been involved in general contracting and subcontracting operations. He has held the positions of Division Head, Project Manager, Estimator, and Field Supervisor. His areas of expertise include: construction estimating, cost controls, scheduling, management of personnel, contract negotiations, solicitation and evaluation of proposals and coordination of field activities. He manages the overall operations of the company. Brett was the former President of the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia. He also is a member of the following associations: AIA, Associates Member; Federation of Jewish Agencies, Housing Group Board; and the Golden Slipper Club.
Omowale Crenshaw
Omowale Crenshaw is the Managing Director of Enterprise Heights Real Estate Development Company. In this role, Mr. Crenshaw is responsible for executing Enterprise Heights' $250MM vision to pursue market-driven mixed-use real estate development initiatives, commercial corridor redevelopment and community revitalization activities throughout University City and West Philadelphia. His activities include land use planning, acquisition, budgeting, community engagement, zoning, financial packaging and elected official interface. Omowale manages a staff of four associates and brings over 15 years of both domestic and international economic development experience to the organization.
Omowale is member of the board of directors of Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) Philadelphia Charter School. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He hold a B.B.A. in International Business from Howard University and a M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Daryn Edwards
Daryn is a project manager with Interface Studio Architects, LLC and a registered architect in Pennsylvania, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as well as a L.E.E.D. (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) Accredited Professional. Daryn specializes in the design of urban, sustainable development projects such as the rehabilitation of low-income, single and multi-family homes, commercial corridor improvement projects, job training facilities and community theaters. He is currently an adjunct professor at Philadelphia University and was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Rome Program for Iowa State University. Outside the office, Daryn lends his professional skills to several community groups, including the Friends of Bardascino Park, the Community Design Collaborative and the Next Great City Initiative. Along with his responsibilities as President of the Board of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, he serves on the Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and the Construction and Project Planning Committee.
Michael Forman
Prior to co-founding FB Capital Partners in 2005, Mr. Michael C. Forman served as a senior partner in the Corporate and Securities Department at the Philadelphia based law firm of Klehr, Harrison, Harvey, Branzburg & Ellers LLP. In addition to his career as an attorney, Mr. Forman has been an entrepreneur and has founded two finance companies: Mercantile Capital, a mid-size asset based lender and factorer and Preferred Capital Bidco, L.P., a Small Business Administration lender. Mr. Forman is a member of the Board of Directors of a number of our portfolio companies. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Technology Council of Pennsylvania and Murex Investments, Inc., an economic development/venture capital firm, where he chairs the Investment Committee. He is a member of the Philadelphia International Airport Advisory Board. Mr. Forman received his B.A. from the University of Rhode Island, where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected Phi Beta Kappa, and received his J.D. from Rutgers University.
Peggy M. Gordon
Peggy M. Gordon is president of P. M. Gordon Associates, Inc., a book production service providing services to medical textbook publishers that she founded 25 years ago. Happily married for 37 years and the mother of two grown children, she spends her spare time taking long walks with her dog and her daughter's two dogs and volunteering with various organizations, including Habitat, Hosts for Hospitals, and the Youth Aid Panel (a program of the District Attorney's Office). Peggy has been volunteering since the late 1960s, when she tutored in a housing project in Boston. Aside from knitting, volunteering is her favorite activity.
Joseph Leonardo
Now semi-retired, Joseph Leonardo worked as an urban planner at the Philadelphia City Planning Commission interacting with community leaders and developers in all sections of the City. He personally authored or was the project director for numerous neighborhood planning studies published by the Planning Commission. During his last fifteen years with the agency he directed the work of twelve professional planners engaged in neighborhood and development planning for Philadelphia.
Joe has volunteered with or served on the board of groups like the Big Brothers / Sisters Association of Philadelphia, the SouthWest CDC, and Philadelphia Neighborhood Housing Services. Also, he was recently certified as a gallery guide at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As a current member of the board of Habitat Philadelphia he not only helps fashion policy, but also occasionally works at the various construction project sites. In addition to volunteering, a few of Joe's personal interests include art history, domestic and international travel, bicycle riding, swimming, gardening and singing with a male choral group.
Michael O'Brien
Michael O'Brien has served as the Vice President of W.S. Cumby & Sons, a premier Delaware County construction company, since 1999. His company represents contractors who are socially and environmentally responsible. As VP, his responsibilities include oversight of all pre-construction activities in excess of $50 million per year. Michael is a LEED, Green Advantage instructor and serves on the Marketing Committee of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council.
Kevin Watson
Kevin Watson is a Deputy Sheriff Officer in Philadelphia's Sheriff's office. Drawing from his background in Army Intelligence Analysis, accounting, and Philadelphia police work, he brings his expertise in civil procedure to Habitat's work in the city. He serves as the Treasurer of Philadelphia's Political Action Committee and as PA Coordinator for the Black GOP. Other organizations Kevin has been a member of are St. Alban Lodge 529, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia's Faith Relations Committee, and Philadelphia's Al-Aqsa Islamic Society. In May 2007, he completed his MBA from Rosemont College.
James W. Wentling
Jim Wentling founded James Wentling / Architects in 1987 as a design practice dedicated to serving small and medium size home builders. Since that time, the firm has assisted builders in 15 states. Residential products designed by the firm have been popular with buyers and have been recognized with awards at local, regional and national levels.
Author of Designing a Place Called Home, published by Champman and Hall in 1994 and Housing by Lifestyle, published by McGraw-Hill in 1990 and republished in 1995, Jim has spoken and written extensively about residential design issues. In addition to a monthly column in Builder/Architect magazine, he has been a speaker at home builder conferences throughout the United States and in Canada, Europe, and Asia.
